Cheshire Pine and Oak has been established since 1989 and we have over 35 years experience in the industry.

We are a UK MANUFACTURER of Handmade high quality solid pine furniture offering custom made BESPOKE options as well as our standard handmade items to order as displayed on our website. Please remember that we do NOT sell from stock. Unfortunately we are unable to build our furniture in OAK due to the cost of raw material until further notice. 

We are extremely proud of the reputation that we have gained for our first-rate furniture quality. Each piece is available in the Raw Wood or with a Paint or Wax Finish. We offer local and nationwide deliveries in our own vans using our own drivers delivering into your home.

We are now accepting orders to be MANUFACTURED in LATE FEBRUARY 2025 and delivery DURING the whole month of MARCH 2025..

All our items are handbuilt to order and this extended lead time and start date is due to the increased volume of orders we aleady have in. 
We have added a new payment option: PAY 15 DAYS BEFORE YOUR DELIVERY at the checkout to compensate for this.

MADE TO MEASURE sizes - variations on our EXISTING PRODUCTS: contact us with your specific SIZE requirements. All our items are handbuilt to order and the lead times quoted is due to the increased volume of orders.

TOTALLY BESPOKE SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE:  Unfortunately we are unable to accept any more work/orders at this time to your own specific design and styles that you may want us to copy from elsewhere.

If your enquiry is related to an existing order or you require a QUOTE, these will be answered as soon as possible. Due to an increased volume of emails and enquiries we are answering a little slower than we would normally like BUT we will get back to you as soon as we can. 

 

IMPORTANT DELIVERY  INFORMATION

The lead times are to be used only as a guide as everything is hand built to order. 

Deliveries are made MONDAY to FRIDAY between the hours of 8am and 6pm. 

WE BOOK IN YOUR DELIVERY SLOT… 

.. when your handmade furniture is BUILT…which will be around 10 days BEFORE we are planning to deliver. 
You will get an email around 10 days BEFORE your delivery advising you of the day, date and if it is an AM (8 - 1) or PM (1 - 6) delivery. This email will also notify you of any payments outstanding and due dates. 
We will give you a time slot of AM or PM.
Our handmade furniture deliveries are made by a specialist furniture delivery company who are based in Chester and our furniture does NOT go to your local delivery holding depot. Unfortunately we do NOT deliver on Bank Holidays or at the weekends.

  • We do not import furniture
  • We do not keep stock. 

  • Unfortunately we are unable to build our furniture in OAK due to the very high cost and the quantity that we have to order of the raw material until further notice. All our furniture is built using SOLID PINE timber. We do not use MDF, Chipboard, plywood or veneers.

  • NONE of our handmade furniture is boxed, flat packed or self-assembly

  • If there are any issues with access or parking please also let us know NOW.
  • We do not use pallet companies offering kerb side drops.
  • DELIVERIES
    • Our deliveries are made with a van load covering the area by our local furniture delivery specialist based in Chester. Your furniture will NOT go to a delivery holding depot near to you. 
    • We have 2 Days travelling plus 3 days of deliveries with an number of overnight stays. We deliver to a GROUND FLOOR/STREET LEVEL room of your choice on the day we have booked you in. We do NOT make individual deliveries with one order.
    • Please let us know NOW if you live in a FLAT or APPARTMENT.
    • OUR DELIVERIES are made MONDAY to FRIDAY between the hours of 8am and 6pm. You will get an email around 10 days before your delivery advising you of the day, date and if it is an AM (8 - 1) or PM (1 - 6) delivery. We are unable to give you a time slot other than AM or PM 
    • Unfortunately we do NOT deliver on Bank Holidays or the weekends.

    • AREAS THAT WE DO NOT COVER: We can book in an altenative delivery company called PROOVIA to do this and will need to get a price off them.
      • Central London, Kent, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk. Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, East and West Sussex, South West Wales, Ireland, Scotland, The North East, The Isle of Wight and The Isle of Man or Overseas.
    Please be aware that NONE of our furniture is flat packed or self-assembly and your choice of furniture MAY NOT GO UP your stairs. We will ask you to send photo's of your stairs and to be shown the access to establish if the item is ABLE TO GO UPSTAIRS.

    Delivery Areas

    We are pleased to be able to offer a ground floor delivery service and operate delivery runs as well as offering a comprehensive service to our main service areas which extend across Cheshire, Yorkshire, The Midlands, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, North Wales and the North West shown with in the radius shown in the map. None of our furniture is supplied flat packed.

    The prices are for a downstairs delivery to one of our delivery zones as pictured below is: 

    • 2 person STANDARD DELIVERY: 
      • covering area inside circled BLACK ZONE: £130
      • covering area inside circled RED ZONE: £145
    • 2 person EXTENDED DELIVERY:  
      • covering area inside circled PURPLE ZONE: £155
      • covering area inside our BLUE ZONE: £165
      • covering area inside our TURQUOISE ZONE: £175
      • covering area inside our PINK ZONE: £180
    If you do NOT live inside any of these coloured zones PLEASE contact us first to see if we can deliver to you and where we will then also be able to give you a price from an alternative delivery company called PROOVIA.
     

       

      If you do live outside of our coloure zone delivery area please contact us where we will be pleased to get you a price for this service. 

      if you do live OUTSIDE one of these coloured zones please contact us BEFORE placing your order. We will need your address and a decription of what you are wanting to order to get a quote from the delivery that will be made by PROOVIA. Proovia cover the areas that we do not cover ourselves and we need to get a price for you FIRST.

      • MISSED DELIVERY: If we arrive and you are not at home on your arranged delivery day after you have confirmed this day with us then there will be a fixed charge of £200 for a re-delivery. Your furniture will be brought back here and the delivery process is started again. We are based just outside of Chester over the border in to North Wales and we also begin and end our delivery run here. Your furniture does NOT go to a delivery holding depot near to you.

      We can build our items if you would like to arrange your own collection if you live in the areas that we do not cover.
      COLLECT: We can manufacture the item for you if you would like to arrange your own collection. A few of our customers have previously arranged their own collection either HIRING A VAN or using PROOVIA, ANY VAN and the local Man and Van businesses in their area. We suggest these type of collection firms due to our furniture being handmade and not boxed like the imported furniture that is about. You will need someone who is used to transporting furniture - ie transport blankets and straps. OUR FURNITURE HAS NO PACKAGING.

      Privacy & Security

      All areas of the Cheshire Pine and Oak Website (www.hallandlarder.com) which process customer details are protected with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This encryption is achieved using an encryption certificate issued by a market leader in such technologies, Globalsign. Before issuing the certificate, Globalsign complete several checks to ensure you and your information are protected. Please check for the green padlock icon at the checkout screen, and at the login screen where you are asked for your username and password.       We do not store your credit or debit card details. These are only processed via the RBS Worldpay or Shopify system, and we do not see this information at any point during your transactions.       Returns & Replacements

      If you change your mind about your purchase, please let us know. If you cancel your order that was paid for at the time of ordering PLEASE BE AWARE that the refund will be MINUS the FEES that the payment provider charges us. Your refund will not be the whole amount as the payment provider charge us for the refund. If you change your mind at the time of your delivery or with in 7 days of your delivery we will arrange the collection and refund your payment for the goods that you have bought MINUS the payment provider fees. We will also deduct the original delivery cost plus the collection carriage of £150 from your amount to be refunded. .Please be aware that we do not offer refunds for BESPOKE items unless there is a fault.

      If you require a collection by Cheshire Pine due to a change of mind, then the customer will pay

          • the original delivery charge 
          • plus a collection carriage charge of £200
          • plus the payment providers refund costs which will be deducted from the amount paid for your handmade furniture.

      To allow us to process the return of your goods correctly and effectively, please complete the following steps:

          • Where possible take photographs of the faulty areas
          • Email our returns department info@cheshirepineandoak.com detailing the following:
            • Your name
            • Your address
            • Contact telephone numbers
            • Email address (if different from sending address)
            • Our order reference
            • Date of purchase
            • Attach any photos you have been able to take
            • Full details of the fault

      We will offer you an exchange or a credit note. This does not affect your legal rights, including your right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. After 7 days we are unable to accept return of any item unless faulty. Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the return

        IMPORTANT DETAILS

        Product Dimensions

        Due to the hand made nature of many of our products, there is the potential for small variations against the quoted dimensions. Therefore, if exact dimensions are required, or if size is a critical element in your purchase, please contact us prior to placing your order.  

        Pine Timber

        All our handmade furniture is made from solid pine timber and this natural material with knots and it does expand and contrast in different temperatures. Wood is hygroscopic, which means its MC will fluctuate based on the relative humidity (RH) of the surrounding air. As humidity increases, the MC increases, and the wood expands, and as the humidity decreases, MC decreases, and the wood shrinks. Unfortunately this can not be stopped on a natural material but it is an easy fix as the actual build is not effected. If you have a knot appear or open up this can be fixed and if your have movement on the door panels or backboards again this is an easy fix. 

        Wooden Knobs

        All our handmade furniture is supplied with beech wooden knobs as standard. These knobs can be painted in the colour that you have chosen or in the contrast wood finish. If you have orderd an item in the RAW WOOD then the knobs are supplied loose and also in the RAW WOOD. We can fit your own handles or knobs if you send these to us. We ask you to purchase what you would like and post them out to us to fit free of charge in our workshop BEFORE delivery. This can not be done in your home by our delivery team.  

        Flush Hinges

        We use high quality UK manufactured flush hinges that are produced for Cheshire Pine. We do not use inferior quality products from DIY stores that are imported in bulk and cost effective. We also do not use kitchen types hinges that are typically used when a wooden kitchen door is combined with melamine.

        Our furntiure is built with a frame following traditional methods and the doors are not mounted on the outside but fitted into the frame.

        We have 3 colours of our hinges. SILVER, FLORENTINE BRONZE and BRASS.

        We choose the hinge colour that best goes with the colour of the paint choice, or the contrast knobs or the colour of your own knobs/handles. Our hinges are 50 mm FLUSH HINGES and are manufactured specially for us. We are unable to use any other hinges or the ones that you may want to buy and for us to use. Please accept our apologies that this is not possible. We guarantee our doors with the hinges that have been design and manufactured in the UK for ourselves. The way that the doors are hung and the thickness of the timber means our hinges work.

        Double Roller Catches for closing doors

        All our doors are closed shut with the strong traditional UK manufactured double roller catches. We do not use modern magnetic catches or any slow closing mechanisms. Magnetic catches are typically used on modern furniture that is combined with melamine, MDF, plywood and man made boards. 

        We do not use any fitted kitchen type hardware and we use traditional fittings. Our furniture is built to last and this is why we continue to use the traditional cabinet making methods.

        Double Coat Hooks

        All our Double Coat Hooks are CAST IRON and a BLACK FINISH. If you would like Chrome or an alternative colour then we ask you to purchase these and send them on to us.  Purchase what you would like and post them out to us to fit free of charge in our workshop BEFORE delivery. This can not be done in your home by our delivery team.  

        How We Manufacture

        All our furniture is made using solid timber - no MDF, plywood or man made boards are used, even when painted. We use a Kreg® Pocket-Hole Machine to construct cabinets furniture, bookshelves, tables etc with multiple joints in a professional way. It drills a pilot hole and counterbore at a 15-degree angle into the timber without the use of glue, nails and screws on the outside what can be on view, look very unsightly and not as strong. It enables us to construct furniture from the inside instead of the outside. Our time served cabinet makers have used this for many many years in our manufacturing and it gives the best strength and most stable construction out there. These pilot holes are visible on the inside side edge.
